A BUILDING last used as a branch of Subway on Weston-super-Mare town centre could be turned into a house of multiple occupation.
A planning application has been submitted to North Somerset Council for a change of use of the building on 131 High Street.
The large house could also have an office and communal area and could host up to eight people.
A planning document submitted with the application read: "The last use of the ground floor was a branch of Subway."
It also said the building “has been vandalised and requires substantial work”.
The document also explained: “The existing site is a two storey late Victorian end of terrace building, faced in tile/render and red brick.
“The building has a distinct Flemish inspired elevation to the street with cornice and pilaster details.
“The long side elevation which runs along Old Post Office Lane is predominantly in brick with a variety of window styles and levels.
“The roofs are a mixture pitches with some flat roofed areas.
"The past use as a post office has resulted in a variety of additions and floor levels with the ground floor to first floor dimension being higher than would normally be encountered.
“Buildings in this area of High Street tend to have a commercial use at ground floor with residential accommodation above over two, three, and four storeys.
“The Playhouse Theatre is located close to the site and the post office is located on the corner of High Street and West Street.”
