A theatre has shared news of a range of exciting events on offer in the month of August.

The Playhouse Theatre in Weston-super-Mare will host the singing talents of female vocalist Chrystal Bliss, who will perform songs from West End musicals, in the Upstairs Bar on Thursday, August 15, at 2pm.

Tickets are £6.50 for members and £8.50 for non-members, and can be purchased by emailing playhousefriendswsm@hotmail.com.

On Saturday, August 17, the Saturday Coffee Morning will see a Music Quiz taking place, with an entry fee of just £1.

Membership of the Friends of the Playhouse Theatre group now stands at over 500, with more members welcome.

The yearly membership fee is £15, and new members can sign up at the theatre box office in person or via phone.

Membership benefits include 15 per cent off selected shows, and discounts at the theatre and confectionary bars.

Members also receive a quarterly newsletter along with invitations to regular social events throughout the year, including the forthcoming day trip to The Forest Of Dean and The Dean Forest Railway.

Members also get one free ticket on their birthday.
