Fly tipping has become an issue across North Somerset this summer with the council conducting investigations at tipping site across the area.
The North Somerset Council has sent its Anti-Social Behaviour team to fly-tip sites in Langford, Banwell, Dundry, and Winford to search for evidence in the waste that might assist in identifying the people responsible.
The council have also advised locals to be vigilant when paying for waste disposal, as giving rubbish to an unlicensed waste carrier can land you a fine of up to £200.
Licenses for waste carriers can be checked online here.
North Somerset Council have released a statement on the issue. They said: “We take fly tipping very seriously.
“As well as reviewing all fly-tipping reports, we regularly search through fly-tipped waste across North Somerset to look for evidence that helps us identify the person responsible for the fly tip.
“Householders have a legal duty to make sure that the person collecting their waste is a licensed waste carrier, and you can easily check this online.
“Help us protect North Somerset, and make sure your waste is disposed of properly.”
