CHURCHILL Academy & Sixth Form students have been celebrating their A-level results following years of hard work and determination to succeed.
Chris Hildrew, headteacher at Churchill Academy & Sixth Form, commented: “We are delighted with the A-Level results that our students have achieved.
“We’re so proud of our students' drive, determination and commitment to their studies.
"We’re thrilled to see excellent results in Economics, Business Studies, French, Geography, Music Technology, Photography, and Health and Social Care, demonstrating the breadth of the curriculum on offer at Churchill.
“We know that every grade is hard-won and we congratulate all our students on their achievements.”
Top academic achievers in this year's group include Isaac Morris-Shapiro, who achieved three A*s and an A to secure a place studying Medicine at Bristol.
Oliver Morris achieved three A*s and Helena Browne achieved A*A*A. Finley Hay and Bruce Butson also achieved A*A*A and will both take up places at Oxford University, to study Economics and Management and Chemistry respectively.
They will be joined at Oxford by Verity Quinton who will read History after achieving A*AA in her A-levels.
Andrew Bowman also achieved A*AA whilst Emily Kendrick and Angel Lin got straight A grades in their A-levels.
Hannah Sheppard, assistant headteacher - Sixth Form, said: “The results obtained by the class of 2024 reflect the hard work and commitment they have shown to their studies over the past couple of years.
“We are proud of their successes and wish them all the best in the next stages of their education or careers.
“The specialist staffing in our Specialist Tutor Programme has provided them with access to consistent support and invaluable industry knowledge specific to their chosen area of interest, and therefore we know these students enter the next phase of their lives prepared with the knowledge and skills to continue to succeed.”
The vast majority of Churchill students have confirmed their university place, many of which are their first-choice destination.
Students will be studying a wide range of university courses including Astronomy, Biomedical Sciences, Economics, Engineering, Television and Film Production, and Primary Education.
Many students have also secured highly sought-after places on apprenticeship courses and other training opportunities, whilst others are planning gap years to broaden and build their experience before taking their next steps.
Churchill Academy & Sixth Form offers over 30 courses and a range of personal development programmes unique to the Academy.
The academy will be holding its Sixth Form Open Evening on Thursday, October 17 for future students to visit the facilities.
