WESTON Rotary is delighted to be able to confirm that once again this year, the Annual Golf Day raised significant funds to share amongst local charities and celebrated its 28th anniversary.
This year’s President, Helen Green, said that the main Charities she has chosen to support are our local RNLI, Children’s Hospice South West at Charlton Farm, the Alzheimer’s Society and Cancer Research UK, all of which should receive a sizeable donation each from backing given to the day.
It is because of the support we receive from golfers and local businesses sponsoring teams on the day, as well as advertising in the programme, that over the years this event has raised more than £200,000 helping to ensure that we are able to continue the charitable work, which Weston Rotary has carried out now for over one hundred and three years within the local community.
Victorious team this year was Eddy’s Hornets, who won with 93 points, Source Electrical coming in second place on 91 points, with Tee’d Up and Twisted picking up the prize for Best Dressed Golfers in the Tournament.
Thanking everyone again for their kindness in backing the event, President Helen said that she hoped Weston Rotary would be able to count on their support again next year.
