THE Summer Vibe event, sponsored by Weston-super-Mare Town Council and The Sovereign, was in town last Saturday.

A spokesperson for the event said: “Although the morning rain forced us inside The Sovereign, an estimated 1400 people attended, and there was a lovely buzz in the shopping mall.

“There was live music from Missing Cat Trio, Joe Lloyd, ToF, Bruce Jones and Mini Concerts, and live entertainment from Action Pussycat, William Augustine, Wave Community Radio and Kat Collets Circus Skills.

“Visitors were delighted to met Chase from Paw Patrol, Toons the Tiger, Rory the T Rex, Belle, Father Christmas and the detective Shela Holmes, who coordinated the Cluedo Mystery Hunt where families had to solve the mystery of who stole what by tracking down different characters and items.

“Local traders lined The Sovereign, selling a range of good from books to cakes to yoga classes, and they were all delighted with how busy they were over the day.”

Organiser Ade from Together Pussycat CIC said: "It was very disappointing at 8am when we turned up to a very wet and windy Italian Gardens and the decision that it would be too dangerous to put the inflatables, rides and stage outside, but The Sovereign team were so helpful and accommodating.

“Without their understanding, it would have been half as good.

“We had around 700 entries to the Cluedo Mystery Hunt, and every entry won sweets.

“The traders said they had a very good day and it was well worth their while attending."

The next event is Mad 4 Animals Face Your Fears, on October 28 in the school holidays. Tickets and more information can be found at www.ticketsource.co.uk/action-pussycat.
