A WESTON resident has shared his memories of the WH Smith shop from the 1960s and 1970s.
David Andrews said it “was so vibrant” and remembered the times he went to the store to get comics and weekly music papers.
Mr Andrews: “It was so vibrant in the 60s and 70s. As a young boy looking at the comics, etc to getting the weekly music papers.
“You could reserve monthly magazines and when they arrived, they would put a copy in a folder which had your name on.
“This was by the side of the staircase. The real draw was at the top of those stairs where you would find the Record Department with loads of albums, etc.
“There were standing booths, you just had to ask to listen to a single before deciding if you wanted to buy it. Sadly missed.”
