A WESTON business has raised over £2,000 in aid of a home care provider.
September 2024 marked the end of Home Instead’s fundraising year, and they are pleased to announce they raised a fantastic £2,016.19 for Weston Hospicecare.
At the beginning of September 2023, local home care provider, Home Instead, decided they would choose a charity of the year to concentrate their fundraising efforts on.
After putting out a vote to the team, the charity decided on was Weston Hospicecare.
Nikki Gower, Home Instead events coordinator: “This charity means a lot to so many of us who have personal experience with their amazing service, so we were happy to help do our bit.”
Home Instead held various fundraising events and activities in the twelve months that followed, including cake sales, raffles, a walk along the sea front, staff drop-in days and a big summer fundraising event with fashion show held at Worle Community Centre.
Nikki added: “We had a great response with our public events, the cake sales we held outside our Office we especially popular.
“Our summer fundraiser was a lot of fun, we had a lot of jumble to sell, alongside offering a raffle and a cream tea to purchase.
“We also managed to rope some of our team members in to being models for a pre-loved clothes fashion show on stage.
“They took to the catwalk like naturals and managed to sell quite a few outfits.
“We’ve also had support with our fundraising from local star and friend of Home Instead, Wezley Webber, who supported two of our events free of charge.
“All our team members that joined in with the fundraising did an amazing job and we thank them all so much for their support. We are proud and lucky to have such a wonderful team.”
Esther and Zoe from Weston Hospicecare said: “Weston Hospicecare is profoundly grateful to Home Instead for their outstanding fundraising efforts.
“Your generosity directly supports the compassionate care we provide, helping us meet the £5.9 million it takes each year to keep our services running.
“We cannot thank you enough for your kindness and commitment, which make a real difference to the lives of those we care for."
Home Instead are having a short break from fundraising for the rest of the year, and come January, will be choosing their next charity of the year.
