A WESTON surgery has improved its CQC rating from ‘Inadequate’ to ‘Good’ after its most recent inspection.
Graham Road has been rated ‘Good’ in all areas by the Care Quality Commission (CQC), marking a significant improvement from the practice’s previous rating of ‘Inadequate’ in September 2023.
Dr John Heather, clinical director at Pier Health Group, said: “We are delighted with the outcome of our recent CQC inspection.
“This rating reflects the hard work and dedication of our entire team in improving the quality of care we provide to patients.
“We have implemented numerous changes and enhancements to our service, and it is great to see these efforts recognised.”
The practice has implemented a comprehensive plan to improve in many areas including appointment availability, staff retention, admin processes and patient experience which has provided positive results.
Brandie Deignan, CEO of Pier Health Group, said: “We know we have lots more to do, but we are pleased that the entire team has worked together to deliver this ‘Good’ rating.
“We want to assure our patients that Graham Road Surgery is committed to maintaining and further enhancing the quality of care provided.
“Transformation is a process and journey and we are pleased we maintained the focus in our most challenging times to deliver for our patients.’’
Rebecca Alford, executive practice manager, said: ‘‘The entire team at Graham Road are dedicated to improving outcomes for our patients and our population and look forward to maintaining this rating.’’
Dan Aldridge, MP, said: “Graham Road Surgery achieving a rating of ‘Good’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) is great news for our town, and a testament to the hard work and dedication of the staff, who refused to give up, and took on the challenge of turning round the fortunes of a failing service – Thank you.
“While we aren’t out of the woods and there’s lots of hard work still to do, I’m excited for the plans to move to a fully accessible, purpose-built facility soon.”
Brandie Deignan added: “On behalf of Graham Road Surgery, I’d like to share my thanks to patients for their support throughout the improvement journey.
“We look forward to continuing to serve the community with high quality healthcare services.”
The CQC, the Independent Regulator of Health and Social Care in England, assesses healthcare providers in 5 key areas: Safe, Effective, Caring, Responsive, and Well Led.
