Nestled within the stunning Cadbury House in Congresbury, the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse and Grill offers a dining experience that’s hard to beat, especially with its breathtaking sunset views over the Bristol Channel.
As my son and I settled in for the evening, the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow that added a touch of magic to our meal.
We kicked off the evening with cocktails, opting for the Salted Honey Old Fashioned and The Godfather. Both drinks were expertly crafted, with the Old Fashioned featuring a rich complexity that complemented its smoky undertones, while The Godfather offered a sweet, smooth finish - an ideal start to the culinary journey ahead.
For my main course, I chose the American Burger, a masterpiece of culinary craftsmanship. This juicy burger was stacked high with Monterey Jack cheese, perfectly cured bacon, sweet pickled cucumbers, and BBQ glaze, all nestled within a soft brioche bun.
The addition of iceberg lettuce and beef tomato brought freshness to each hearty bite. It was served alongside a mini jar of Heinz ketchup and Koffmann fries that were crisp and addictive. Without a doubt, this was a superior level burger that left a lasting impression.
My son, a chef himself, ordered the ribeye steak, which he raved about as being beautifully tender and mouth-wateringly flavoursome. The steak was cooked to perfection, showcasing the restaurant’s commitment to high-quality ingredients and culinary skill. It was a delightful pairing to the atmosphere.
For dessert, we opted for the sticky toffee pudding and the 1879 Cambridge Burnt Cream. The sticky toffee pudding was light yet indulgent, striking the perfect balance between sweetness and richness. Meanwhile, the Cambridge Burnt Cream, a generous portion of crème brûlée, provided a luxurious finish to our meaty feast with its creamy texture and perfectly caramelized top.
The ambiance of the restaurant was relaxed yet elegant, making it clear that this is a place for special occasions. With attentive service and an inviting atmosphere, Marco Pierre White Steakhouse and Grill is highly recommended for anyone looking to enjoy a memorable meal in a picturesque setting.
