Coming off the back of another successful year, the Weston Lions formally presented two local charities with a combined £10,000 in donations.
The funds were raised after the Weston Lions Real Ale and Cider Festival, which took months of planning and many hours of work.
The Lions said the success of this year's festival was thanks to the "help and commitment from volunteers, local businesses, sponsors, and of course the people who came and enjoyed the weekend."
Young Carers Support and Great Western Air Ambulance Charity received a £5,000 donation each.
Jane, Young Carers coordinator, said: "Young Carers Support works with young people aged 5 to 18 who have someone at home with an illness or disability.
"Young carers can find themselves helping at home with practical tasks, providing emotional support, and often have worries associated with having a loved one who needs care.
"The young carers team provides access to therapeutic groups, trips and activities where young carers have access to opportunities that they may not otherwise have, whilst meeting peers and understanding how they can also look after themselves whilst caring for someone else."
Philippa, the supporter engagement coordinator for the Great Western Air Ambulance Charity, said: "It was an honour to be chosen as one of Weston Lions’ charity beneficiaries for their hugely successful, well-loved and well-attended Real Ale Festival this year.
"As Weston’s local air ambulance charity, Great Western Air Ambulance Charity (GWAAC) is so grateful for the incredible donation of £5,000, as well as the chance to help raise awareness of the life-saving work our Critical Care Crew do on a daily basis across North Somerset and beyond.
"An enormous thank you to all involved."
The Weston Lions said that the festival makes "all the long days and many labour hours that the Lions contribute so worthwhile when we can give back to the local community and amazing charities."
