Naseem Talukdar, founder of Weston charity Projects Against Plastics (PAP) and recruitment firm Regency Ltd, has been nominated for an MTM award.
The MTM Mukhtyar Singh Community Champion Awards honour individuals who uplift and unite minority ethnic communities.
Mr Talukdar said: "It is an honour to be nominated for an MTM award and I am grateful to everyone who has supported me."
He has been recognised for his work with PAP, which tackles single-use plastic, and Feed the Homeless, which has provided thousands of meals to rough sleepers.
His initiative, Plastic Free Ramadan, aimed at reducing waste during the holy month, has gone nationwide.
Mr Talukdar also set up Regency to supply seasonal workers for UK horticulture from climate-affected countries in South-East Asia.
He has returned from a delegation in Bangladesh, where he collaborated on sustainable projects and launched a 'one tree per student' initiative under PAP.
Mr Talukdar added: "My driving force is to make a difference in my community and further afield.
"I also want to support and give a voice to those who are underrepresented in our society."
The MTM Awards, established in 2012, celebrate the excellence and achievements of the asian, black, and ethnic minority communities.
