A SOMERSET nursery is proud of their latest ‘Good’ Ofsted report.
Cheddar First School Nursery, part of the Wessex Learning Trust, has received praise for its nurturing environment and dedicated staff, after being awarded a ‘Good’ in all areas by Ofsted.
In the report, the Ofsted inspector observed that staff engage babies in a range of exciting activities that stimulate exploration and skill development, from splashing in water trays to enjoying sensory play with sand.
Further noting that the curriculum is designed to identify and address developmental gaps, ensuring all babies make significant progress from their starting points.
The report describes how parents are actively involved, with regular communication and events that strengthen the home-nursery connection.
High praise from parents highlights the supportive environment, where they feel included in their child's learning journey.
Suzi Smith, headteacher, expressed her pride in the report, said: “We are very proud of our latest Ofsted report and are so pleased to achieve a grading the team truly deserves.
“We work extremely hard to provide an environment that stands out for its ambitious curriculum, effective planning, and strong partnerships with families, laying a solid foundation for babies' future learning and development.
“It is great to see this reflected in the comments made by the inspector.”
