A Weston-based company has teamed up with Weston College for a campaign aimed to create more apprenticeships in the South West.
TaxAssist Accountants, in Drove Road, has started a campaign alongside the college and the Federation of Small Businesses.
Since 2004, TaxAssist has provided work experience placements for the college and owner John Mayer said these are valuable to students to get a feel for a working environment.
He said: “Too often young people leave college with no real experience of working life. Students who opt to take on work experience as part of their studies will gain valuable skills and widen their knowledge and experiences.
“We are delighted to be working in partnership with Weston College to directly address some of the myths around apprenticeships and generate additional employment opportunities across the region.”
