SOMERSET CCC captain Tom Abell has been named as the England Lions ODI Captain for the upcoming tour of Sri Lanka.
The white-ball squad will play three ODIs against Sri Lanka A in Colombo, with the opening match scheduled for February 15.
Ahead of that, the Lions red-ball squad will play a three-day warm-up match in Colombo on January 25 before two four-day Tests against Sri Lanka A in Galle.
The Lions ODI squad also features Tom Banton, Tom Lammonby and James Rew.
There is further Somerset representation within the squad, with Paul Tweddle being named as fielding and wicketkeeper coach.
It was also announced today that Neil Killeen will be Head Coach and Pace Bowling Coach.
Haseeb Hameed will captain the red-ball side, whilst Ian Bell has been named as Batting Coach and Min Patel will be the Spin Bowling Coach.
