Weston Karate Club, based at Hutton Moor Leisure Centre, held a very busy weekend of assessments recently.
Over 40 students, with ages ranging from seven to 48-years-old, successfully attained their next belt.
A couple of them strived to become one of very few who can hold the esteemed rankof Sho Dan.
Lucas Matras, 14, started training in 2015 at the age of seven, and after years of dedication, hard work and commitment passed his Blackbelt.
Gary Hunt, 39, started training with Weston Karate Club over 30 years ago. He left the club in his teenage years, but took decision to
return last summer.
After putting in many hours in the club and with extra lessons from the clubs chief Instructor, Hunt also achieved his goals and was awarded his Blackbelt.
Weston Karate Club has been training in Weston since 1984 and has a well established backing. The club has 5 instructors both male and female, all who have come through the ranks with the club and can boast over 150 years worth of experience.
