SOMERSET'S One Day Cup campaign hasn't gone exactly to plan as the side currently sit in bottom place of the B group after five matches.
Last time out, Somerset were well beaten by Gloucestershire away from home.says
Team captain Sean Dickson has said his side are off the pace of where they want to be, but says not all of that has been in their control.
"We are a side that is at the moment, far beyond the pace of where we need to be at.
"It has been an eye-opener as to where we need to be as a team and where our younger players need to be in terms of their skills at this level."
He added that the team is missing key players due to the Hundred competition.
"We are a team that has lost ten players to The Hundred and we are playing against teams who have lost one or two players.
"We are basically playing our Second Team against everyone else's First Team. And in saying that, we have competed in most of the games.
"In the short term it may look bad, but in the long term it will build character and I hope our young players can pull through the other side better for it."
