Lauren Filer says she does not want to take being called-up by England Women "for granted" after being named in their latest squad to face India this winter.
The right-arm medium bowler from Weston CC is part of a 15-woman squad to play a three match T20 series in Mumbai this December.
Filer will first travel to Oman between November 17 and December 2 for a training camp before their opening IT20 fixture at Wankhede Stadium on Wednesday December 6.
The 22-year-old Western Storm seamer found out she was called up after a “really nice conversation” with coach Jon Lewis and added that she is “very excited to be a part” of the team again.
“I’m really looking forward to India, I haven't been there before, but I've heard very good things from people who have been over there,” she said.
“They obviously love their cricket. So, I think it should be a really good atmosphere and obviously really looking forward to hopefully playing a Test match over there.
“Obviously, it's going to be really it's completely different to the one I played in England, just due to the heat and sort of different challenges we'll face. But I'm really looking forward to it.”
Filer said facing India will possess a challenge but believes her team can pose a threat and will be travelling to Asia with the aim of picking up the win.
“I think obviously, India are a very, very strong side,” she added.
“It will definitely be a challenge and obviously trying to get used to the weather as well.
“But we've got a really strong team and I think we all sort of do something different. So, I think that should bring hopefully success to the table.”
It is third time Filer has been called up by England this year.
Filer was first named in the Ashes squad to take on Australia back in June, before she was named in the squad for against Sri Lanka in September, where she was named player of her series after taking eight wickets.
“It's been a fantastic year and even getting called up into the squads is something to be really proud of,” Filer said.
“Even playing this summer and hopefully the back end of this year as well, it will be something really special.
”I don't want to take it for granted because it's something that I've wanted since I was a little kid.”
