Yatwell under-16s produced a brilliant first half display to beat St Brendans 33-21 last Sunday.
Yatwell came out of the blocks first when hooker Phil Clarke stormed through the defence to score.
A quick tap and go from a 5m penalty saw Clarke barge over for his second and then Yatwell hit a purple patch with some of their best running and supporting rugby of the season.
Centre Scott Waters found his way through to the try line before winger Joe Coman scored a well-deserved first try for Yatwell.
Then with the final play of the half Yatwell re-gathered a tapped down ball at the lineout and a pass to second row Matt Hill, playing probably his best game of the season, saw him bulldoze his way through to the tryline for his first try as well to make it 33-7 at half-time.
But Yatwell allowed St Brendans back into the game. Yatwell were guilty of not reorganising themselves quickly enough and St Brendans took full advantage, moving the ball wide and grabbing one back.
The final score came when good pressure by a St Brendans runner, who was then able to win the race to the line and score beneath the posts but the hosts came away with the victory.
