A Huntspill & District Cricket Club member has been recognised for her role in safeguarding by the England and Wales Cricket Board as part of the 12 Days of The Cricket Collective recently.
Amanda Counsell was awarded highly commended at the England and Wales Cricket Board Cricket Collective Awards in the Safe Hands Award and won the local Cricket Collective Awards in Somerset.
Counsell, alongside Lara Van Gelder, finished behind winners eventual winners Jade Pope and Amanda Reader.
“Safeguarding Young Cricketers and vulnerable adults is such an important part of all sport,” Counsell said.
“I am honoured and humbled to receive this acknowledgement from the ECB and to have been nominated by colleagues and friends within cricket in Somerset.”
