It was a tough week for the Hornets rugby teams with only two of their squads’ recording wins.
The Colts won against Tor Rugby Club in the last game of the weekend, winning 22-31 against a tough side.
On Saturday the first team lost 35-37 to Old Redcliffians RFC in an intense game that featured 11 tries and saw the Hornets concede defeat in the last seconds of the game despite putting in a monumental defensive effort in the last 10 minutes.
The second team secured a comfortable 21-5 victory in their home game against Bernadettes Old Boys Rugby Club.
The three’s secured the league last week and were looking to finish on a high, but visited Tor Rugby Club who were celebrating their 70th anniversary in front of a full crowd and fell 38-12.
The fourth team made the trip to Martock with a slim squad having lost players to injuries, absence, and call ups to the threes.
They put in a heroic performance but went on to lose 51-5, in a game that marked the last away match for the club this season.
