There was no weekend competition this week at the Isle of Wedmore golf course because Captain had taken a group of members away to Wales, but the Seniors made up for this by having two competitions including their own away-day on Wednesday.
Before the away-day though they held their first medal of the year on Monday, which happened to be one of the windiest days of the years.
It was therefore an impressive performance from John Sims, who actually managed to play to handicap, 70, which was good enough to win Division Two by five clear shots ahead of the second place Ken Lohmann.
A score of 75 was good enough for Dom Smith to take Division One and in Division Three James Robertson took first place on 78.
It was still windy on Wednesday as the Seniors visited Cumberwell Park for their Spring Away Day.
Top prize went to Tony King for best net score of the day, with divisional prizes going to Jim Vearncombe and Nigel Day. Geoff Brooks took the Over-75 prize.
The Ladies played a three ball bowmaker with the odd shower working with the breeze to keep scores down and the best of the day were Ann Dixon, Sue Mcdonald and Pru Witter who managed 70 points.
This gave them a 3-point margin over runners-up Liz Sweeney, Ruth Rogers and Viv Dx, and Linda Roberts, Ruth Pearson and Janet Cornish were a further three shots back in third place.
