Weston-super-Mare AFC have announced that midfielder and club captain Dayle Grubb has left the club after the 2023/24 season.
After making his debut for the club in 2008 The Seagulls legend went on make a total of 497 appearances for Weston, and in that time recorded 149 goals and 161 assists.
Grubb came through the under-18s team at Weston and spent his whole adult career with the club except for a loan spell at Forest Green Rovers between 2017 and 2020 that saw him play at the professional level, along with a short loan at Eastleigh FC.
He was also the club’s top scorer in the 2021/22 season and 2022/23 season.
Weston manager Scott Bartlett said of Grubb’s departure: “Dayle has been a brilliant player for this football club which has also played a huge part in his career.
“I know everyone at Weston AFC is very proud of his journey which spans almost 500 games.
“He has been virtually ever present and of course has given us many great moments.
“Quite rightly he will get a fantastic amount of well wishes from our supporters, he departs the club with our thanks, and we wish him good luck for his next challenge.”
