Weston Town FC’s first team beat Isle of Wedmore FC 4-1 in the semi-final of the Attwell Shield competition to reach their third cup final of the 2023/24 season.
They will now face Haywood Village on May 14th in the final of the Attwell Shield cup, hosted at Cheddar AFC.
It’s been an incredible season for Weston Town who, along with reaching three finals, currently sit second in the First Division of the Weston and District Football League knowing that wins in their last two games will be enough for the title.
The biggest final that Town have made this season was in the Junior Somerset County Cup.
They toppled Haydon Sports 6-0 in the semi final but lost out 3-1 to winners Wells City ‘A’, a team who have already been crowned champions of their division two games early.
Weston are also in the final of the Hospital Cup after beating Isle of Wedmore 4-2 in the semis, with the final to be held at Wedmore on May 11th.
The Weston team now have the opportunity to not only win two knockout cups in four days, but also to become triple champions after a fantastic league and cup campaign.
