Hornets RFC will be hosting Somerset’s best rugby players as they take on Yorkshire in the 2024 edition of the Bill Beaumont County Championships.
The Somerset County team visit the Weston ground on May 25th in the second of their two group games in this year’s county championships, with the first being away to Lancashire on May 18th.
The Bill Beaumont competition happens every year and sees county and regional squads from around the country compete across three different divisions to become national champions.
After winning the Division 2 title in 2022 Somerset have been competing in Division 1, giving them the chance to be named the best county squad in the county if they can get to the final at Twickenham Stadium.
Last year losses to Kent and Southwest rivals Cornwall were learning curves for Somerset in their first year back in the top division, but a thumping 41-24 win over Hampshire in their last game would’ve left them wanting the competition to continue.
Yorkshire meanwhile are coming off the back of two out of three wins from last year, only losing out to eventual runners-up Lancashire.
Somerset v Yorkshire kicks off May 25th, 3:00pm at Hornets RFC.
