The Weston and District Football League is finally finished for the 2023/24 season after Division Two sides Worle Rangers Reserves and Berrow FC played the very last match of the campaign this weekend.
Saturday’s game saw Berrow win 4-3 after goals from Declan Christie, Elliot Edwards, Finaly Paul, and Aminul Barik, and also the confirmation of all the division champions.
In Division One Weston Town Firsts topped the table with 49 points after recording 16 wins and one draw from 20 games and also went on to complete a historic treble that saw them lift to knockout cups.
In Division Two Axbridge United finished a dominant season as champions, nine points clear of second place.
The squad managed 21 wins from a possible 24 and only drew one league game all season.
In Division Three Sporting Weston Colts just sneaked ahead of AFC Nailsea by two points to be crowned champions.
The North Somerset side ended the season on 35 points to Nailsea’s 33 but finished on a far higher goal difference on 28.
Finally, Highburn Athletic were the champions of Division Four, who finished on 59 points from 22 games, just two points ahead of runners-up Weston Celtic.
