WESTON Tennis Club hosted a successful Spring Junior Tournament on Sunday, May 12, sponsored by Christopher's House of Chocolates.
Events were staged for two age groups: the Under 10s and the Under 18s.
The Under 10s' participants were Dev Bhatnagar, Ruben Powell, Jasmine Logan, Ted Moon and Lennox Byron.
Dev won all of his matches in the round robin group, but it was Ted and Lennox who battled their way through to the final, where Lennox's big hitting and experience told, winning 7-5 / 7-4.
The Under 18s final was a great match of high quality tennis between Julia Maciejczek (16) and Yuna Byron (11).
The contest was played in blistering heat and Yuna managed to edge it 6-4 / 7-6.
Head coach Jamie Allen presented the trophies and thanked all those taking part.
