Clarence Bowling Club had what could be considered a rest week for the club this week as they only had two games after a June that was full of fixtures.
In the first match Clarence took on Victoria ‘B’ and won 70-53.
With a win on one rink, followed by a loss and a drawn rink, the game came down to shots.
Clarences win came courtesy of Martin Ford, Dave Clifford, Gordon Sansom, and skip Gordon Owen who took complete control of their match to run away with a 19-shot win.
The rink with Mike Fry, Rob Skudder and Tony Mannion skipped by Mick Edlin also deserves a mention as they managed a single on the last end to draw a match in which they trailed the whole time.
Clarence Ladies were soundly beaten 35-63 by Yatton in the Fear Cup for the club’s second match of the week, and now go on to play in the Fear Plate.
The squad managed one win from Tina Gordon, Jane Ratcliffe, Jan Field and skip Shirley Searle.
Searle’s ladies were behind all the way until the 16th end but fought back until the end where they took a three and the win.
