Cleeve Cricket Club's first team beat Coalpit Heath by two wickets to go to fifth in the Senior Division table.
In thrilling match, the home side secured the victory by 188 runs, shrugging off Coalpit Heath, who had a rocky start at 39-5 in the 15th over.
Coalpit Heath, opting to make the initial use of the Cleeve track, found themselves up against Cleeve new ball players Andy Barnsley and Glenn Lewin.
Barnsley made his mark on the day's match right off the bat, bowling Cooke for no score, and soon collected a brace as Wasiuk was snagged by Tom Carpenter at 15-2 in the 4th over.
His partner in crime, Lewin, followed suit with a couple of powerful moves, bowling Perham for 8 and allowing James Ball to collect as Donaldson staggered out for 14 at 34-4 in the 12th.
Tom Baughan disposed of Jones for just two, catching Mitch Want in the 17th, and bowled Thompson for 2, leaving Heath a staggering 50-6.
Despite a partnership forming between Heath’s captain, Pete Lamb, and Tom Williams, the team still faced numerous challenges.
Williams, deciding to employ spin, was given out LBW by Want; Lamb's efforts were nullified by Nat Pinkney's decisive bowling, and Heath concluded what had seemed like an seemingly unreachable 188 at the end of the 44th over.
Cleeve displayed impressive wrath in the second half of the day.
Alfie Parsons, Barnsley, and Alexandr Soch showed remarkable resolve, making quick work of their turns at the crease.
However, Cleeve's success was jeopardised by the departure of Soch, who was bowled by Ali for 11 in the 27th over.
Williams was next to leave, having squeezed out his half-century.
Despite the hitches, Barnsley, Parsons and Pinkney managed to manoeuvre around the field efficiently.
Thanks to their consistent efforts, Parsons finally edged to the keeper off Williams for 36 at 182-8, and Baughan collected the five necessary for victory.
This final run saw Cleeve triumph over Coalpit Heath in the 42nd over.
This victory not only moved the team to the fifth position on the Senior Division table but also sets them up on a high as they prepare to go head to head against local neighbours Claverham next week.
