Victoria Bowls Club's Fiona Waters, who has been with the club since 2013, emerged as the triumphant Women’s Senior Singles National Champion.
Waters' journey began on August 19 when she nailed a decisive victory over A Smith from Hertfordshire with a scoreline of 21-8.
The following day, an early morning match saw Waters overcome R Powell from Hampshire in a comfortable victory of 21-14, progressing her into the quarterfinals.
In an exhilarating about against Wellingborough County Champion, Tina Broderick, Waters battled her way to a narrow 21-20 win over 26 ends.
A game on Wednesday, 10am saw the Somerset champion take on Lindsay Collin from Gloucester in the semi-final.
Displaying no nerves, Waters went on to dominate the match winning 21-12 and marking her spot in the National Final.
Matching against Caroline Campion from Oxfordshire, the final was evenly contested initially.
However, it was not long before Waters began to take the lead, concluding the match with a 21-15 victory and earning the esteemed title of English Champion in Senior Singles.
Waters' performance on the green was prime, reflecting her unstinting contribution to the Victoria Bowls Club as a dedicated member and a qualified umpire.
Her feats crowned a moment of glory for herself and her club, resonating with the pride of Weston Super Mare.
