Weston AFC took on Maidstone United this Bank Holiday Monday and recorded their third successive win with an outstanding victory on the road.
The Seagulls travelled to a much-fancied Maidstone on Monday who had only lost once so far this season, but left the Kent-based club 1-0 winners, a victory that takes Scott Bartlett’s side up to ninth place in the National League South.
Sam Avery was the man on target for Weston, steering home his beautifully hit volley for the all-important winner on the sixty-five-minute mark.
The win rounds up an impressive week for The Seagulls who have now won three games on the trot in the past six days having triumphed over both Chesham and Chelmsford last week.
Bartlett and his men will be looking to continue this rich vein of form as they return to The Optima Stadium on Saturday August 31st when they take on 13th placed Hornchurch, kick-off 3:00pm.
Weston then go on to face a soaring Slough Town at home on September 3rd, a team who currently sit top atop the league table having only lost once in their opening five fixtures.
