After a huge 2-0 win over Slough Town that gave Weston their fifth win in a row and moved them up to fifth in the National League South, manager Scott Bartlett spoke about his team’s performance.
Bartlett said: “It was a brilliant performance against a really good team. We had to be that good tonight, in my opinion, to get anything from them.
“The goals came at the perfect time for us, obviously the last one killed it off but it was exciting wasn’t it, end-to-end.
“I felt it was end-to-end but we had quite a lot of control over the tempo and the flow of the game, we shifted the ball from right to left very well, we crept up the pitch while doing it and got our attacking players in some really dangerous areas.”
Bartlett also praised his team’s defending, which allowed his attacking players to do their job.
He said: “We attacked well in the game, but we could only do that because we defended well as individuals and that’s not just the lads in the back four, that includes Will Buse as well and all of our midfielders.”
“We got the ball wide, crossed more balls than ever really and it was a strong performance.”
