Wrington Redhill were left disappointed after their first home game of the season ended in defeat to Ashton and Backwell.
Despite the early dominance and an opening goal from Chris Jones, they couldn't maintain their lead, succumbing to a 3-1 defeat.
The home side started strongly, rewarded with a well-worked goal, but the tide soon turned as Ashton and Backwell found their rhythm.
By half time, the score was levelled at 1-1.
As the second half got underway, Ashton & Backwell took control.
Wrington Redhill failed to seize the loose ball in the middle, providing Henry Winton with the opportunity to secure a lead for the visitors.
They slipped further when a simple ball cleared the backline, setting up Smart to extend Ashton & Backwell's lead to 1-3.
Wrington Redhill pushed back but missed crucial opportunities.
Unfortunately, the home fans went unrewarded as the final score saw Ashton & Backwell victorious, leaving Wrington Redhill defeated in their first home game.
A spokesperson for Wrington Redhill said: "Massive thanks to those who came to support the boys.
"The team were very appreciative of the good home turn out but couldn’t quite reward the home fans".
Wrington now sit in 13th in the Somerset County League Division One table.
