Victoria Bowling Club had a quiet week as the summer season drew to a close.
The ladies' team faced their final matches in the Weston District League on Tuesday and Wednesday.
On Tuesday, they hosted Nailsea at the Quadrant, where the B Williams, J Apps, and R Cleeves trio won 17-12.
P Taylor, J Hartree, and M Kelly also secured a 17-15 victory, leading to an overall win of 44-42 for Victoria.
The following day, Victoria travelled to Backwell for an even closer match, with only one shot separating the teams.
Victoria again came out on top, with S Sokol, T Miles, and N Whyte winning 18-16, and D Welfare, D Callister, and A Culpeck winning 12-10.
Captain T Miles expressed her delight with her teammates for the enjoyable season, noting that they still have the Southey Cup Final to look forward to.
Victoria also participated in the North Somerset Mixed League this season, a league formed to encourage new players and accommodate working bowlers.
Eight local teams competed in a friendly atmosphere, with Victoria emerging as the eventual winners.
Victoria expressed gratitude to all the clubs involved in making the competition successful.
They also thanked all the players who represented the club, as well as Kay Wilson, Fiona Payne, R Bromet, and N Robbins for their contributions.
Kay Wilson said: "We all played with smiles on our faces and the fact that we won the league was the cherry on the cake."
