Weston-super-Mare RFC U11s kicked off their 2024/25 season by hosting Dings Crusaders RFC U11s.
The young players took to the field on a sunny Sunday morning, with nerves quickly dissipating as the game began.
Levi made an impressive start with some strong tackles, while Wyatt opened his try-scoring account for the season.
Laszlo also made an impact with a powerful run, although his effort was disallowed for being on the wrong line.
Amelie, known for her strategic play, set up Andi for a half-pitch run resulting in an impressive try.
Katie, gaining confidence, took on several players, demonstrating her growing prowess on the field.
Newcomer Eddie had a solid first game, showing promise in both tackling and running.
James, another new player, displayed agile footwork, earning himself the nickname 'Billy Elliot' for his ability to manoeuvre around the Dings players.
Rohan, described as the "silent assassin", was praised for his hard work in rucking, scrummaging, and tackling.
The game ended with smiles all around, with Levi, as voted by Dings, and Laszlo, for his power play, named players of the day.
The team’s efforts, sportsmanship, and skill were evident, making for a promising start to the season.
