Weston-super-Mare RFC U15s met Tor RFC U15s in their third league match of the season.
Despite initial concerns about the match being called off due to the miserable weather, the Recreation Ground pitch held up well for the contest on October 20.
From the outset, Weston demonstrated a strong combination of forward power and backline agility.
Following a period of strong possession, player Seth Richards made a break and an impressive pass out of a tackle, which was collected by Will Elmont.
Elmont then evaded three players to score the first try of the match, which was converted by Richards.
Weston soon found their rhythm, with Aaron Hill-Nicholls making significant carries that allowed Ollie Juszczak to pick up the ball and forcefully cross the line for Weston's second try, again converted by Richards.
Maintaining momentum, Charles Morrow provided an off-the-ground pass after being tackled, which Richards collected.
Richards then made a long pass to the wing, finding Elmont in space for Weston's third try.
Richards then joined the scoring spree himself, dodging several players to score Weston's fourth try.
At halftime, Weston, feeling secure in their lead, made changes, allowing some players to rest while bringing on impactful substitutes.
However, Tor RFC fought back, scoring two tries.
Weston responded, maintaining their strong defence and denying any further scoring opportunities to the visitors.
Charles Morrow capped off Weston's scoring by picking up the ball in the opposition's 22, outpacing three players to score a spectacular try, converted by Richards.
The team displayed commendable performance in the challenging wet conditions, demonstrating the benefits of their training.
Will Elmont earned the Player of the Match award for his two tries, while Wes Berridge was recognised for his outstanding work in attack and defence at scrum half.
